30 paintings in 30 days -Day 6 – The London Eye

Monday, January 6th, 2014

I was again influenced by my daughter who suggested I keep painting places outside of the U.S. She suggested the London Eye, the Tower Bridge or Big Ben. I chose the Eye and she was quite pleased :) I am enjoying exploring the ink & wash technique. 9″x12″ watercolor on paper.

30 paintings in 30 days -Day 5 – Eiffel Tower

Monday, January 6th, 2014

As fascinated as I am with Venice, my daughter is almost equally fascinated with the Eiffel Tower. So for her, I decided my next stop would be in Paris. We’re redoing her room for her birthday next month and this will probably end up on her wall. After I add some glitter that is ;)

30 paintings in 30 days -Day 4 – Venice

Monday, January 6th, 2014

Of course, since I was already in Italy I had to stop by my favorite place to paint, Venice. I can’t explain the fascination I have with Venice and I can’t wait until I have a chance to actually go and visit there.

30 paintings in 30 days -Day 3 – Tuscany

Monday, January 6th, 2014

A Vineyard in Tuscany seemed a most logical selection for my next painting. I’ve been enjoying using my watercolor pencils in a looser way by lifting the pigment on to the brush rather than applying it from pencil to paper. 6″ x 9″ watercolor on paper.

30 paintings in 30 days -Day 2- Grapes

Monday, January 6th, 2014

The one request that the mother-in-law had for her visit this time was to go and do wine tasting. So we visited a couple of wineries, drank a little, bought too many and then I came home and painted grapes. It seemed like the perfect end to a day filled with wine.

Monday, January 6th, 2014

In order to stay awake and New Year’s eve I painted this picture for my mother-in-law. I was awake way past midnight finishing it but it was worth it because she loved it! We went an got it matted for her to take back to GA with her.
